NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting Course


Average Runtime: 7 hrs  (+ 1 hr lunch if done in one day)

Location:  This class is NOT located at our classroom in Junction City. It is located at a local firearms range. Upon purchasing the class we will email you directions to the class site.

The NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting is intended for all individuals regardless of previous shooting experience or NRA-affiliation. In this class students will get the NRA's The Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook and intensive lessons in safety, gun handling, the various types of pistols, the fundamentals of pistol marksmanship, various pistol firing positions, several practical exercises on the firing range, cleaning, storage, and a summary of pistol sports and activities.

NOTE: This class does not meet the requirements for a Concealed Handgun License, but does qualify as a prerequisite course for higher-level handgun courses, and is taught by an NRA certified instructor.

Class Requirements:

-Semi-automatic pistol and/or revolver (Whichever you are most comfortable with, or both if you want)

-200 rounds of factory ammunition (Leave guns and ammo in your car, do not bring to classroom)

-Eye and Ear Protection (Mandatory on range)

-Case for your firearm

-Ballcap (Recommended)

-Closed-toe shoes, no low-cut shirts

-Signed and filled out liability release form

-Holsters are not utilized for the practical exercises in this course. For courses featuring the application and use of holsters see below.
