Class Format
Please note this class comes in several formats, please pay attention to which format you are selecting when registering.
- In Person: The class is held in person at one of our training sites (location will be stated in the selection).
- Online Instructor-Led: The class is held online via Zoom, but is taught by a live instructor. Students attend the class virtually using the Zoom platform.
Description
The course provides an opportunity for emergency management and response personnel to begin developing an Incident Command System (ICS)/Emergency Operations Center (EOC) interface for their communities. The course reviews ICS and EOC characteristics, responsibilities and functions and depends heavily on activities and group discussions to formulate an interface. Students must attend and participate in the entire course in order to receive certification.
Course objectives
- Describe ICS principles.
- Using scenarios, analyze the ICS and EOC systems and identify potential interface issues.
- Describe Multi-Agency Coordination/EOC principles.
- Identify the authorities, responsibilities, interests, needs, and assets of ICS and EOC during emergency operations.
- Apply ICS/EOC interface concepts in a classroom activity situation.
- Begin developing an ICS/EOC interface action plan for your community.
Target Audience
ICS and EOC personnel, anyone with a role in an EOC.
Prerequisites
- IS-100 Introduction to Incident Command System (ICS)
- IS-200 ICS for Single Resources and Initial Action Incidents
- Students must have a FEMA SID Number
