Cascadia: Separating Fact from Fiction

The looming Cascadia Earthquake is on a lot of people's minds these days. Unfortunately there is a lot of misinformation being spread about what it is and what kind of damage it could cause. Preparedness: What You Can Do

Studies have shown that communities that are more prepared prior to a disaster require less emergency resources and recover much quicker.  We will be covering common preparedness tips and tricks and talking about what you can do to prepare at home, in your car, and at work so that you too can be "Two Weeks Ready".

Wednesday, 11/13

Family Preparedness: Children and Pets

There are many resources available regarding personal preparedness, but one topic that is not often discussed is what to do to if you have children and pets.  We will be talking about how to prepare kids and pets for disaster situations, including tips on developing child and pet go-bags, and how to help children and pets cope during an emergency.

Wednesday, 12/11

Being Ready: Emergency Plans and Business Continuity

Household emergency plans, emergency operations plans, and business continuity plans are all useful tools for making sure your family, home, or business are ready in case of disaster or emergency.  These plans are also critical because they lay the groundwork for recovery and can help speed the return to "normal".  We will be discussing how to write personal / family emergency plans as well as business continuity plans, focusing on what should be included in an effective plan, how to implement the plan, and then how to review and update the plan.
